For decades the coffee tidal wave has been growing. Coffee drinkers these days know what they want and an average coffee is officially off the list.

Many people think making great coffee is simple but we at the MadCap Training Centre don’t just teach you how to make coffee. Our goal is for you to take pride in making the greatest cup of coffee EVER! Yes, its a big claim, but life's too short to make bad coffee.

Our goal is to make You a highly sought after Barista and making great coffee is all about you. We will teach you the skills that will make you a member of a rare breed- the breed of people who want to make a difference. As an ordinary Barista you just might keep your job but we'll teach you how to become a key player wherever great coffee is appreciated.

The 4 day Intensive Barista Course runs Monday to Thursday and is a nationally recognised and accredited course. The units of competency are:

  • SITXSFA001A Implement Food Safety Procedures
  • SIRRFSA001A Apply Retail Food Safety Practices

When you have completed the course you can (subject to availability) come into the Centre at no charge to practice and perfect your new skills.

The shorter 3 hour Barista Basics Course is held every Friday and is a snapshot of what it takes to be a Barista. Even though it’s a three hour course you are welcome to come into the centre at 9am to get to know us and the equipment. The course runs from 10am – 1pm.

At completion of the course you will receive a Certificate of Completion signed by Barista and MadCap Ventures project Manager Anthony Cheeseman who has won various awards including Michels Patisserie Victorian Barista of the Year.
