Today, more Aussies are dealing with a mental illness than experiencing a common cold.

At MadCap Café, we provide work opportunities for people experiencing mental ill health and work towards better understanding in the community of mental illness and how it affects one in five of us everyday.

Like any café, bar, shop or restaurant, some staff at MadCap have a mental illness. But you probably can’t tell who they are. Because, like with a toothache or backache, mental illness doesn’t discriminate, and you can’t always see it. And like a toothache or backache you just have to deal with it. You make the coffee. You do the work. You carry on.

At MadCap, we don’t employ people to make coffee. We make coffee to employ people. At MadCap, we focus on ability, not disability. It’s about what we can do. Not what we can’t. To find out about work opportunities at MadCap, email reception@ermha.org or call (03) 9706 7388
